I had a rousing debate all of yesterday and this am with a person that was insistent that he would only vote 3rd party, and for me or anyone to suggest other words were just wrong. I tried to gently point out that unless a 3rd party candidate has backing for monetary concerns, unfortunately very few people outside their own group, even knows they exist, then what happens is something like 2010, where the really ‘wrong’ candidates won.
That said, I wish very much that we could break this deadlock the ‘politicians ‘have on the party’s and the candidates, and really have no good ideas. I am hopeful that others will take up this issue and help usher in a new 3rd party. It will take a large portion of our country to stand behind a third party candidate, and you would think with the advent of the net and the ability to converse easily across the country, would help, but so far to no good avail.
I think that the only way we can get a good 3rd party is if we take all money out of politics. We need a political candidate fund, and make all TV ads and internet ads free, and then you take the ‘bribers’ out of our politics. No more lobbyists, no more super pacs, and no more corporate dollar controlling our government. It would be good to deny all millionaires the ability to serve as politicians, and not allow big oil, big pharm and all the other bags to ever give out money. We could help this along by requiring that every years tax returns be public knowledge for all politicians and If we see that they are getting richer than they could by their pay alone, then fire them. When are American people going to wake up and realize that we are the ‘employer’ of all government officials, even the president. They would not get paid if we the taxpayer of this country did not pay taxes of any kind(that includes all taxes not just income tax), and as such, should not be able to earn more than an agreed upon amount that is tied into the prevailing wages for the American worker, and take away their 65 paid days off, and make them be on Medicare and pay there own premium, take away there pension for life, they can pay into social security like the rest of us. If they are forced to live as the majority of Americans live, then just maybe they might actually return to a government
